September will mark 3 fantastic years of working on Perrier Road. Sadly, it will also mark the end of my time in my cozy little cabin space. The Wellness shop provided me with a fantastic opportunity to get my practice started in Nelson but I will be moving at the end of September and joining Page Allison at Latitude Athletic Therapy. Latitude is located at herridge Lane, just off Baker street

My schedule will change slightly with the move; my Monday, Wednesday and Thursday hours will be similar but I will be replacing my Tuesday evenings with a Sunday shift.

As ICBC has changed its requirements of therapists and become increasingly challenging to work with I have decided to no longer offer direct billing to ICBC.

I recently completed an amazing course working on nerves of the face and head; including the Vagus and Phrenic nerves. These techniques will be indispensable in treating concussions, migraines, headaches, altered vision and hearing following trauma and for calming and balancing the nervous system for those with an overactive sympathetic system. Very exciting!

Physiotherapy

Emily Johnson is trained in Diane Lee’s Integrated Systems Model. A specialized assessment approach which analyses the entire body for postural and biomechanical faults. This approach allows the therapist to determine the impact of an injury, not just locally but on the body as a whole. Enabling the therapist to treat the injury and all resulting compensations at once. This technique is also used to improve performance where no injury is present.

Emily also has extensive training in Visceral Manipulation, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Acupuncture/ dry needling, bike fitting and canine therapy.
